Is this a scuba dive?

No, there is a deep site that certified divers can visit. However, we feel the interaction of the sandbar is far greater and much more fun to do as a snorkeling site.

Are the Sting Rays Dangerous?

No, although they are wild animals they are used to human interaction. Some of them even recognize the guides that visit them daily and develop a personal connection to them.

What about Steve Irwin? I heard he was killed by a Sting Ray.

Yes, he was in a tragic accident. And by a Bull Ray. That species does not reside in the Caribbean. The only rays at the Sand bar are the Southern Caribbean Stingrays.

Do I have to know how to swim?

No. The sandbar is in waist height deep water so it’s fully accessible for children, elderly and non-swimmers. We do recommend for the snorkeling tour that you wear a life vest for your comfort and safety if you are not water savvy.

Will there be a professional photographer?

We have a staff member that is able to join your tour and take pictures of your family professionally upon request for a fee. Otherwise, our Captains are happy to take on that role with your iPhone.

What do I need to bring?

Towel, reef-friendly sunscreen, hat, sunglasses.

Mask, snorkel, fins, and fresh water.

Can I bring my own snacks or beverages?

Yes! We encourage people to relax and enjoy themselves. Snacks and other liquid libations are welcome, please no glass containers though.

Is there a special rate for children?

Yes. Children 5 and under are free of charge.

Is there a minimum age? Maximum age?

Yes. Minimum age for children is 2 years old and for all minors – a parent/guardian must be with them at all times in the boat and in the water. There is no maximum age to participate. It all comes down to being able-bodied enough to be able to climb up a ladder to get out of the ocean at the end of each stop.

Do you have Snorkeling equipment for children?

Yes, we have children’s masks and fins for even the smallest of feet.

Ideal for the new diver, photographer that wants some long quiet time underwater, or the family that enjoys a bit more personalizes experience; our professional staff will have all your gear waiting on board for you, you only need to suit up and jump in! Dives are fully guided and we ensure small groups so lots of attention can be given to each diver and can take their time to fully enjoy their dives. Juggernaut can also be used as a snorkeling vessel. Sit back and enjoy the large canopy for shade and many easy exit and entrance points on the boat for the snorkeler in you. Great for a trip out to the Kittiwake and the chance to get off the beach and really see nature in its finest, coral filled beauty.
